On Fear

life has taught me the following:

if my house is on fire
the only way out is THRUGH the fire

if my life is falling in on me
the only way out is through FEELING the feelings

no self-help book
no guru or life couch
no yoga retreat
no raw food diet

will get me to safety

they can make me stronger
they can help me better tolerate the heat
they can cheer me on
but eventually, I NEED TO get through the flames and the fire

to reach sustainable safety

to FEEL THROUGH, and grow
– that is the human experience!

I’m collecting stories from my own journey
to hold as a mirror to YOUR OWN pain

by sharing my own fears and heartbreaks
I’m showing you the fire
I’m offering to walk WITH YOU through the flames
since I no longer fear them

I wish MY pain can inspire YOUR pain to release its grip and let you go

because the world is beautiful on the other side of the fire!
